The Certificate in Theology provides an introduction to and overview of the main theological disciplines. It is suitable for Christians who want to deepen their knowledge of God and enhance their own ministry to others. Modules requiredIn order to qualify for the Certificate in Theology the student must complete a course of study which includes these modules
Note: 1 point represents ten hours of work for an "average" student. Thust a 30 point module will require 300 hours of work over the course of the year - about 7.5 hours per week for the duration of the 40 week academic year.
Period of studyMost students should be able to complete the Certificate in Theology in one year of full time study or two years of part-time study. There is, however, no prescribed time period within which the programme must be completed. Module selection and orderThe module Fundamentals of Theological Study is foundational for all modules offered by SGTS. Students should therefore take this module in their first year of study. Forward planningStudents who ultimately register for the Advanced Licentiate in Theology will need to have completed Hebrew 1 and Greek 1 before being admitted to the Advanced Licentiate programme. It is therefore important to plan these modules into one’s study programme in preparation for the Advanced Licentiate. |
